Exercise: Why It's So Important for Your Health (Body, Mind and Soul)

Exercise is a Gift to Yourself:

Moving your body regularly is one of the most wonderful gifts you can give yourself!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (many times, I’m sure): Exercise isn’t just about looking good. It’s about feeling stronger, happier, and more energized every day. Need a little more convincing? Read on…

Reasons Exercise is Important:

I can think of many! But here's just a few good reasons why making time for even a little bit of movement each day can transform your health.

  • Improves heart and lung health

  • Boosts mood, improves sleep, reduces stress

  • Supports healthy weight management

  • Builds muscle, improves balance, and flexibility

Explore Options:

Experiment, and have fun exploring options so you can find activities you enjoy. This way exercise feels less like a chore and more like a treat. There's a vast variety to choose from: everything from Indoor Cycling (my personal favorite!) to Zumba, Circuit Training, Pilates, Yoga, Hiking, Walking and so much more!

What if You’ve Never Exercised Before:

New to exercise? No problem! You don't need to carve out an hour to get some activity into your routine. Start small. Begin incorporating small movements like a 10 minute walk into your day.

You don't need to exercise intensely for hours every day to make a difference. Even short periods of movement add up. Activity incorporated into your day (think of taking the stairs instead of the elevator) can make a big difference in your daily energy expenditure.

Just remember… small steps lead to BIG changes!
